Turkey earthquakes: Port fires impact $679m of global trade

2月6日,两次强震突袭土耳其东南部和叙利亚北部地区,并对土耳其第二大港伊斯肯德伦港造成严重破坏,全球供应链面临严峻挑战。罗素集团(Russell Group)的分析数据显示,由地震引发的伊斯肯德伦港集装箱堆场火灾事故,预计将造成6.79亿美元的损失,并影响3670万美元的钢铁出口和5140万美元的塑料材料进口。据悉,地震造成该港部分建筑物倒塌,集装箱堆场发生火灾,港口被迫关闭。多家航运公司宣布推迟该港的货物运输,或将货物转运至附近的梅尔辛港。

On February 6st, two major earthquakes in southeastern Turkey and Syria have caused extensive disruption to Turkish air and sea terminals, threatening global supply chains. The container fire at the Port of Iskenderun, Turkey will cause a loss in trade of around $679m, according to Russell Group. Further analysis shows that a $36.7m disruption in Iron and Steel exports and $51.4m in plastic materials imports is expected to be disrupted by the fire. It is understood that parts of the Iskenderun port collapsed and operations were halted, with the shipping complex suffering from a series of fires on Monday. As a result the port has been closed with many shipping lines postponing or diverting shipments to Mersin, one of Turkey’s largest ports.

道达尔为赫伯罗特完成首次生物燃料加注

近日,道达尔能源船用燃料公司在新加坡成功为赫伯罗特(HPL)交付了首批生物燃料。这标志着两家公司签订的长期供货协议开始正式执行。道达尔能源公司为赫伯罗特船队提供的生物燃料由超低硫燃料油(VLSFO)与经ISCC认证的第二代废食用油甲酯(UCOME)混合而成,其中UCOME占比24%。根据全生命周期评估,与传统燃料相比,这种B24生物燃料将减少约20%的温室气体排放。此次具有里程碑意义的加注作业于1月20日完成,通过新加坡裕廊港环球码头有限公司的船对船加注服务,道达尔公司为赫伯罗特旗下的一艘15,000TEU集装箱船”AFIF”号进行了2000吨生物燃料的加注。

TotalEnergies Marine Fuels has successfully completed its first refuelling of a Hapag-Lloyd container vessel in Singapore with Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME) based marine biofuel. This inaugural bunker operation marks the start of a term supply agreement between the two companies. This commits TotalEnergies to provide Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO), blended with 24 per cent second-generation, waste-based and ISCC-certified UCOME to Hapag-Lloyd’s fleet. Based on a well-to-wake assessment, this B24 biofuel blend will reduce approximately 20 per cent of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions compared with conventional fuel oil. Hapag-Lloyd’s 15,000 TEU container vessel AFIF took on 2, 000 MT(metric tonnes) of biofuel on 20 January. The ship-to-ship biofuel transfer was made possible with the services rendered by Jurong Port Universal Terminal Pte (JPUT).

非政府组织拆船平台(NGO Shipbreaking Platform)的最新数据显示,2022年共有443艘远洋商船和海上平台被出售拆解。虽然去年全球报废船舶数量大幅下降,南亚拆船厂的营业额更是创下十多年来的历史新低,但那里仍旧是报废船舶的首选目的地,拆解了全球80%的报废船舶。该地区的拆船厂因环境问题严重和工作条件恶劣而臭名昭著,火灾、钢板坠落和有毒物质泄漏经常导致工人受伤甚至死亡。尽管有规范船舶回收的环境法和劳工法,但船东可以很容易规避这些法律……这些事实表明,船舶回收行业亟待改革,应寻找求更可持续的、更安全的船舶回收方法。

A total of 443 ocean-going commercial ships and offshore units were sold for scrapping in 2022, data from NGO Shipbreaking Platform shows. The latest report from the platform shows that whilst the South Asian shipbreaking yards experienced the lowest turnover in over a decade, with a significant drop in terms of the number of ships scrapped, they remained the preferred destination for end-of-life vessels, dismantling 80% of the global end-of-life gross tonnage. Shipbreaking yards in the region are notorious for unsustainable and dangerous working conditions. Even though environmental and labour laws that regulate ship recycling exist, they are easily circumvented by ship owners. These facts show that the ship recycling industry urgently needs reform and should seek more sustainable and safer ship recycling methods.

韩国三星重工于2月2日宣布,将开发和应用基于数据的“全面综合监控系统(SYARD)”。据悉,该系统可以检查并控制造船过程(如工程、采购、施工)中产生的所有信息,它是一个搭载商业智能(Business Intelligence,BI)平台的经营管理系统,可以利用物联网(IoT)和人工智能(AI)将结构性和非结构性信息大数据化,并通过可视化连接与信息分析实时呈现。SYARD可以帮助人们根据数据做出最佳决策,从而有效地管理人力、材料和能源等经营资源。此外,它还能缩短生产周期,提前识别并消除风险。三星重工的目标是在今年实现运营总成本降低10%,并计划于2025年底前,将智能技术推广到船级社、合作伙伴和船东当中,构筑全产业链的“智能生态系统”。

SHI said on 2 that it will develop and apply a data-based 'Company-wide Integrated Monitoring System (SYARD)' that can check and control all information generated in the entire shipbuilding process (EPC;Engineering, Procurement, Construction). SYARD is a business management system with a Business Intelligence platform that can make structured/unstructured data Big data using IoT and AI, and provide it in real time via visualizing connected and analyzed information. SYARD helps make optimal decision based on data, so that resources including manpower, materials and energy can be managed efficiently. It also reduces lead time and identifies risk factors in advance to eliminate them. SHI plans to achieve '10% improvement in total cost' within 23 years and expand smart technologies to classification society, partners, and customers by 2025 to build a 'smart ecosystem' throughout the supply chain.

lead time 生产周期,前置时间:买方下订单到成品准备就绪(订单完成)的时间(一般固定不变)。

delivery time 交货时间:卖方收到订单到货物准备好交货的时间(经常改变)。

Tips:二者定义上区别不大,主要是角度不同。Lead time是买方根据订单完成所需的平均周期而确定的时间段;而Delivery time是卖方考虑实际生产可能出现计划变动而定下的时间点。由于备料、生产、检验等系列生产过程中计划变动,delivery time常会提前或推迟。
